The Oakwood Student Ministry exists to REACH Jr. and Sr. High School students with the truth of the gospel, to CONNECT them with other Christ-followers, to help them GROW in their relationship with God, and to challenge these students to LOVE others and GLORIFY God with their lives.
Andi Custer is the Associate Pastor of Youth and Discipleship. Growing up in Austria, as the son of missionaries, many people came around him to mentor, encourage and challenge him to be more like Christ. “Now that’s what I want to do. Walk alongside people showing them a God who deeply loves them and wants what’s best for them.”
- The Jr High (7th – 8th) Meets from 6:15 PM – 8:00 PM Kim Lokken – Ministry Leader.
- The Sr High (9th-12th) Meets from 7:15 PM – 9:00 PM Andi Custer – Ministry Leader.
- Deeper meets at Oakwood Church on Friday Mornings 6:30AM – 7:40AM. It is a time for upperclassman to take their faith to a deeper level through intentional discipleship, accountability, scripture study, memorization, and prayer. The weekly donuts usually help accomplish all those things and make the early mornings survivable.
- Sunday School is a time for 7th – 10th grade students to study God’s Word on Sunday mornings. It’s a time of refreshing fellowship, accountability, encouragement and prayer. After a large-group teaching time, students break into small groups. This allows the students to experience and foster a deeper level of intimacy and gives them an opportunity to discuss and voice their thoughts and ideas as they process God’s Word with a capable and caring small group leader. – 11th & 12th graders are a part of the adult Sunday School Class.
In addition to these regular weekly meetings, there are all sorts of events, parties, and crazy happenings going on all the time.
