MS One Day

MS One Day is our annual weekend retreat packed into ONE DAY at Oakwood! This is filled with games, fun, food, worship, a great speaker, breakout sessions, Chick-Fil-A, challenges, and everything you hope to get on a weekend retreat. All of this for the COST and TIME of ONE DAY! This is a favorite day for our Middle School students and every MS student is invited! Cost is $30 for the day, register as soon as possible.

Apprentice Program

This program offers a unique, flexible opportunity for Young Adults who have completed a year post-High School, to serve within a ministry at Oakwood on a deeper, more intentional level. Each Apprentice will be partnered with a ministry leader here at Oakwood, will have responsibilities within a particular ministry, and will partner with Oakwood to accomplish the mission throughout the summer ministry season.

Approximate Time Requirement: 10-15 hrs/week, flexible

Oakwood Youth high school students are heading to Honduras in August of 2024 and they are raising funds to offset the cost of an international missions trip. Many Italian explorers navigated the eastern coast of North American such as father/son, John and Sebastian Cabot, and brothers, Bartholomew and Christopher Columbus. Several Italian missionaries, such as Francois-Jospeh Bressani and Giovanni Antonio de Carbonariis, were amongst the explorers. However, this month we are celebrating the most important explorer, Amerigo Vespucci.

Oakwood Youth Easter Special

EASTER SPECIAL is back and this is a night that you do not want to miss! All students 6th-12th grade will be together for this great night of worship and a speaker as we prepare our hearts for the Easter season. We have invited Heather Flies, a widely known communicator to teens across the United States. Heather loves football, dominating on the tennis court, Tigger and listening to Christmas music 11 months out of the year. She owns 319 bottles of nail polish and 98 pairs of shorts (which she wears all winter long!) She is the daughter of a long distance truck driver, the youngest of six children, and grew up in southern Minnesota. Heather lives in Minnesota with her husband, Chad, and their two St. Bernards.

The Mossmans, a missionary couple who Oakwood supports, and their crew from YWAM Selah in Alberta Canada are coming to Oakwood to lead the Young Adults in a night of worship! There will be a message, worship, and then we will share a meal afterward! Bring your favorite homemade soup to share, and we will vote on who has the best soup! Bible Verse Mapping Class

Come and dig a little deeper into Scripture (ages 14 and up) as we learn the insightful technique of Bible Verse Mapping together. We will use "The James Method" in this class and all preregistered participants will receive a FREE info kit.

What is Verse Mapping? "Verse mapping is a transformative way of dissecting a single biblical verse, delving into its keywords, understanding its historical context, exploring alternate translations, and finding related references. All MS (6-8 grade) youth are invited to join us at Safari Island for Middle School Friday Frenzy! We have rented out the space for an awesome time and there will be some fun competitions, the swimming pool area will be open to us, free time, activities, pizza, hang out area, and more! There will be something for everyone and we want you there! The cost is $10 and it covers the space rental, pizza, and all the activities for the evening! Don't miss it and we want you to invite your friends to this great night!

**If you have a Safari Island membership the cost will only be $5. Please make sure to bring your membership card to use for the event.

Safe Haven

Safe Haven is a monthly youth support group. Lead by youth using a written guide to follow with activities and biblical teachings with an adult supervisor. Focusing on youth that have gone through tough emotional situations, anxiety, depression, abuse, divorce, really anything that cannot be fully supported by regular youth group. This is to go along side counseling and therapy, not to replace it.

Students will meet the 1st Tuesday of each month!
