Baptism is an act of outward obedience to Jesus after making a personal commitment to follow Him. All MS (6-8 grade) youth are invited to join us at Safari Island for Middle School NIGHT OF FUN! We have rented out the space for an awesome time and there will be some fun competitions, the swimming pool area will be open to us, free time, activities, pizza, hang out area, and more! There will be something for everyone and we want you there! The cost is $10 and it covers the space rental, pizza, and all the activities for the evening! Don't miss it and we want you to invite your friends to this great night!

There is a small preparation on some days, so please review when you get the book. This weekend is for Middle School students and is designed to be more than just a weekend full of excitement, it is crafted to provide an experience that deepens and draws youth into relationship with Jesus Christ. Retreats at Big Sandy Camp are a great way to recharge, so let’s make this a priority!
We never want cost to be an issue, so if it is the reason you are not sending your student, please reach out or fill out the scholarship form and we will make sure your student can attend!

Retreats provide a space and environment free from distraction, so they can think about the most important thing - their relationship with God.

Flannel Fest is a night unlike any other in this community. Students in 6th-12th grade come together at the Waconia High School to have fun, play games, worship, hear a message, and pray together! We consider Flannel Fest the BEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR! It is an opportunity for every student, regardless of faith background to come, join the fun!

This is the verse that is on the Kids logo here at Oakwood. In order to apply this verse to our daily lives, it is important Oakwood Kids are reading daily from their Bibles. First graders are eager to learn and it's a great time to give them a Bible they are going to want to read and learn from. Each week kids are asked to open their Bible to the story that is being taught.
If you’d like your first grader to receive a Bible, please register them. Be sure to tell us which service you'll be attending.

Luceline Orchard has so many fun things to do! Many activities are free like the petting zoo. Go to their website lucelineorchards.com to see everything that is free and what costs money. Come prepared to get your pumpkins and applies. Oakwood will have a tent set up where you can gather and meet other Oakwood families between 3:00 and 4:30pm.

You will have the opportunity to meet other families and some of the Oakwood staff. You'll hear a little about our church, its history and ask any questions. Join this two week class looking at the Biblical principles connected to grieving.
Meet at the Lowry Nature Center for a night of fun! There will be two or three scavenger hunt papers available to do together and enjoy the outdoors. A bonfire will begin around 6:45. Please bring sticks from home if you have them to roast marshmallows. The S'mores ingredients will be provided.
As the end of the summer approaches and falls begins, we give thanks to God for His plentiful blessings. Share with the group from personal harvest or something that reminds you of the end of summer.

Oakwood Youth MS will take place at Waconia Middle School on October 2nd from 6:30-8:00 pm! This is a great opportunity for students to invite their friends and to experience youth group in a different setting. It will be a night of fun, worship, and hearing from the Word of God! Middle school students will not want to miss this!
On October 2nd our High School students will be leading their own Youth Groups in homes and spaces outside of the church walls. This is an opportunity to invite their friends, have faith-filled conversations together, play games, and plan a youth group that reached their friends! High School students will be communicating the details for their specific nights to their friends. There is no regular Oakwood Youth at Oakwood.
Practicing the Way is an 8 week course designed to help us engage our faith and learn how to better follow in the way of Jesus.
Kids 1st grade through 5th grade will audition and put on a Christmas Musical for the church family. People can expect to be encouraged and inspired as Kids share the Gospel/Scripture through singing and acting.
Auditions are Sunday Sept 22 3:00-5:30
Rehearsals start Sunday mornings during the 8:00 service and run Sept 29 through Dec 1st.
Performance will be 12/8 at 4:00pm
We will need help with set/stage design, Costumes, sewing, Adult/High school coaches for voice and vocals
View small planes that will be landed at Molnau Airport starting at 5:00pm. We will meet the pilots of the planes, and then come back to Oakwood Community Church by 6:15 to view the movie PLANES. We will have popcorn and candy to enjoy! Fun for the whole family.

Preteen LAUNCH is here Monday, September 16 from 6:30-8pm! This is a night for all 4th-5th Grade students to come to Oakwood for this awesome night! This begins the fall season for Oakwood Preteen. We want to encourage students to come, invite their friends, and have a ton of fun together.

WHAT: 6th Grade Foundations is a time for 6th grade students to explore and understand the foundational Truths of the Christian faith. We will explore theology, understand the narrative of the Bible from Old Testament and New Testament, and finish the year with apologetics. The last Sunday morning will be a Graduation on May 11th in front of the congregation during the 11am service.

Kids, age 3 years to entering 5th Grade (2024), are invited to VBS at Oakwood Community Church. This year's VBS theme is "Breaker Rock Beach." We will be learning about how God's Rock is the solid Truth in a world of shifting sands. Join us for a HUGE amount of fun, new friends, awesome music and games. You won't want to miss this week!
Join us for VBS Family Night Kickoff! We will meet in the worship center to hear details for the week. We will then transition outside to have fellowship and fun outside! We will have a bouncy house, ice cream truck, water balloon fun, pop corn, cotton candy and so much more!
